How to Play 20 Questions?
20 Questions is a fun multi-player guessing game that encourages deductive reasoning and creativity. A player (the thinker or answerer) initially thinks of something and provides a hint to start off the game. The other players (the guessers or questioners) can ask upto 20 yes or no questions to guess what the thinker is thinking.
Scoring
Each question is worth 1 point. The thinker starts off at 0 points and gets a point for each question asked. The guessers start off at 20 points and loses a point for each question asked. If the correct answer is guessed before the 20 questions are asked, the guessers win. Otherwise, the thinker wins. Thinker and guessers get an additional 5 points for winning.
How to play as Thinker
The idea here is to think of something interesting and at the same time challenging for others to guess. To be fair, it should be something that is generally well-known.- Type in what you are thinking (this is the answer and it will be hidden until the game ends).
- Type in a hint (this will be displayed to others). Traditionally, it's Animal, Vegetable, or Mineral, but we encourage you to come up with more interesting hints.
- Wait for players to ask you questions.
- When someone asks a question, select yes, no, or sometimes.
- When someone guesses, select correct, no, or close enough.
How to play as Guesser
The idea here is to guess the answer in as few questions as possible. An intelligent question will typically reduce the possibilities by at least half.- If the Ask or Guess link is visible, that means the game is still going on. Hover over the link to see how many questions are remaining.
- You can either ask a question or guess the answer.
- Wait for a response from the Thinker.
